HELLO

Join our fundraiser for Black women and girls to receive mental health care. Care that can relate to and reflect their racialised experiences. Black women and girls deserve healing.

WHEN

🥂 This Sunday July 19, 2pm EST / 11am PST
🎹 An impromptu, tiny, social, piano bar on Instagram Live.

I will play some random songs written in quarantine, as well as some In French tunes, as raw as it gets.  All tips and donations will go to the Loveland Foundation.

HOW

👯‍♀️Double your dollar. Triple your impact.
My company, Spotify, will match what you donate through me twice over. If you donate $10 through me, Spotify will match $20, and the Loveland Foundation receives $30. What if we donated $1000 together? Spotify will match $2000 and the Loveland Foundation receives $3000. This will go to Loveland’s Therapy Fund to provide financial assistance to Black women and girls seeking therapy. (I guess-estimate 5 wonderful women will receive 5 sessions each to start their journey.)

🖤 All donations must be submitted by me and through me.
🧾Do let me know if you want a receipt.

I appreciate not everyone has the funds right now, but sharing is caring (post, tweet, text and gosh forbid, call your mum). Spreading the word is priceless.

WHY

✊🏻Mental health, our future aka women and girls, and Black Lives Matter.

Due to the intangible nature of this topic, I can’t fully express how vital emotional and mental health is to each one of us. Help to healing isn’t always available. The Loveland Foundation shows up for communities of colour in unique and powerful ways. Their initiatives prioritise opportunity, access and healing, with a particular focus on Black women and girls.

The Loveland Foundation was established in 2018 by Rachel Cargle in response to her widely successful birthday wish fundraiser, Therapy for Black Women and Girls. How grand is that?

WHO

“When we invest in the mental health of Black women and girls it not only causes shifts their lives but it overflows into their homes, families, communities and the generations that may come from them.”
– Rachel Cargle
